Are your salads healthy? Make your own oil and vinegar #healthy salad dressing

Here is their “Magical Vinaigrette Formula”

1 part vinegar to 3 parts oil, salt and pepper to taste

That’s it!!!

I have been using this formula for years, and my personal favorite is 1 part flavored vinegar with 3 parts grape seed oil.

Here are some other options to try:

OIL- choose from:

  • extra virgin olive oil
  • grapeseed oil
  • canola oil, or
  • vegetable oil.

 

VINEGAR- choose from

  • Wine vinegar
  • Rice vinegar
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Balsamic vinegar

 

Note: Lemofood lemons fruits sourn juice can be substituted for vinegar if you wish. Or substitute 1/2 the vinegar with a citrus juice such as orange, lemon or lime)

 SEASONINGS

The only other suggested ingredients are:

salt ( kosher salt or sea salt)  and pepper (preferably freshly ground black pepper).

However, here are some ideas for extra flavour:

  • Freshly chopped dill, basil, parsley, or cilantro,  (dried herbs work, too)
  • Finely minced garlic or fresh ginger
  • Shallots, scallions, or onion
  • Parmesan, Romano, or feta cheese
  • Dijon mustard
  • Sugar or honey

 

THEN JUST MIX

Mix either in a blender, whisk in a bowl, or shake in a jar with a lid, and then add to your salad.
